For the 36th year in a row, the Abilene Ballet Theatre will present the classic Christmas ballet The Nutcracker at the historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Abilene at 352 Cypress Steet from November 18th, 19th, and 20th. This traditional family fairytale where toys, Christmas treats, and more come to life is the perfect holiday joy for music, ballet, theater lovers, and anyone who is young at heart.

Who doesn't become young again the minute they hear the music for Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Russian Dance-Trepack, the March, or my favorite, Dance of the Reed Flutes? So put on your best holiday sweater and order your tickets for the 36th annual Christmas ballet of The Nutcracker suite.

Based on the original fairytale by E.T.A. Hoffman and featuring iconic music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, The Nutcracker is a lush, whimsical ballet that follows a young girl named Clara, who receives an enchanted nutcracker on Christmas Eve. The nutcracker springs to life to defeat the evil Mouse King and takes Clara to the Land of Sweets to celebrate their victory. Source: Abilene Ballet Theatre
