With the holidays right around the corner and the probability that family members might be dropping by to visit, I thought it would be a good idea to put together my list of the Fearless Fave Five Hotels around the Abilene area.

Every year one of my children in particular has always found a hotel to stay in. He has several kids of his own. When it's time for them to bed down, they are out the door and down for the count. So this year, before anyone calls to say they are coming for a visit, I will answer the question, "Where's a good place to stay?"

These hotels seem to be some of the best in Abilene and at an affordable price. From family visits to regional rodeos to class reunions, for those looking for lodging on your next visit to the Key City, here’s a list (along with their "star rating" from Bing Travel Tripadvisor reviews).

LOOK: These are the Fearless Fave Five Hotels in Abilene

While I tried like crazy to keep it to just the "Fearless Fave Five", I realized I had not included the newest gem to Abilene's crown. The new DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Abilene is incredible and has the coolest pool in town; the deck is on the second floor where one can sit in the sun and take in the sights of downtown Abilene.

Our city is fortunate to have several clean, safe hotels. Did I miss one? What is your favorite hotel in Abilene? Check these out and let me know what you think.

LOOK: Stunning, historic hotels from every state and the stories behind them

Stacker curated this list of stunning, historic hotels from every state. To be considered for inclusion, the structure must be more than 50 years old. Many of the selected hotels are listed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and several are purported to be haunted.
