I'm willing to bet most people in Texas would rather stay away from any courthouse for a variety of reasons, but when you have some of the most historical and beautiful buildings to gander at, you can't help but marvel at the architectural beauty that graces the Texas landscape.

I love checking out old buildings and daydreaming about the story behind them. With courthouses, you know some crazy stories could be told if the building could talk.

These masterpieces not only serve as a place for law, but they are a testament to the craftsmanship and architectural genius that surrounded builders back in those historic times. Many of these courthouses were built in the 19th and 20th centuries and registered with the Texas Historical Commission.

As a born and raised Texan, I've seen some of the most beautiful courthouses as I've traveled back and forth across the state. One of my favorites has always been the Erath County Courthouse in Stephenville which is on the list below. But, most of them I have only seen pictures of.
