Inside My Hawaii Getaway: Ko Olina Lagoons, Shark Diving, and North Shore Adventures
Sometimes you’ve got to pinch yourself and realize how lucky you are. I traded the mesquite trees of Texas for the palm trees of Hawaii, and man, that’s a blessing I don’t take lightly.
From West Texas To Oahu
My wife and I hopped a flight to Oahu for our third Hawaiian getaway. This time, it wasn’t about knocking out tourist checklists. It was about slowing down, sipping local brews, and soaking in the kind of scenery that makes you feel grateful just to be standing there.

Relaxing in Hawaii
We kicked things off in style with a stargazing tour at the Four Seasons, where the night sky lit up like a private planetarium. From there, it was straight to Bellows Air Force Base Beach, where soft sand and blue water reminded us why Hawaii’s beaches are in a league of their own. Dinner that night? Roy’s, which, in my opinion, is one of the best restaurants on the island. There is no debating that this restaurant is five stars.
The next few days blended adventure with chill time. We snorkeled in the calm waters of Ko Olina, then cranked the adrenaline with a shark dive that left me equal parts thrilled and thankful for steel cages.
More Than Just Water In Hawaii
The Pali Lookout had us bracing against the wind while soaking up views that stretch forever, and cruising the North Shore gave us shrimp trucks, surf breaks, and sunsets that belong on album covers.
We wrapped things up with one more snorkeling adventure and a sunset cruise just to squeeze out every last drop of aloha spirit.
Check out his gallery of pictures from my trip, which quite honestly doesn't do the island justice. Again, I’m so thankful to be able to experience Hawaii. It is a vibe of its own, and I can’t wait to get back.
