Mountain Dew wants to change the name of a town in the Lone Star State to Hard Dew, Texas.

About 90 miles to the southeast of Dallas, Texas, off of Interstate 45, sits the small town of Dew. The settlement was named "Avant" in the mid-1800s before changing the name to Dew in 1885. The town currently only has about 70 residents.

The Petition

Launched by Hard MTD Dew on change.org, the petition needs 10,000 signatures by February 28th, 2025 to gain some momentum for the change to happen.

If successful, the brand promises to "celebrate with locals to deliver some unforgettable perks" including a huge welcome sign to greet visitors, a larger-than-life can to display, a locals-only happy hour, and even "cold hard dew cash".

As of this writing, the petition only has about 252 signatures of the 10,000 needed.
