Texas Restaurant To Close After Almost Three Decades in Abilene
Many folks in Abilene Texas woke up to some sad news: an iconic local eatery will be closing its doors for good this week after almost three decades of serving our community.
The local and iconic eatery announced on its Facebook page on Monday that its last day to be open will be this Thursday, March 21st to the dismay of many people.
Locals chimed in on the Facebook post and shared their memories and sadness. Some referred to certain items on the menu that they will miss, while others talked about some of the great memories made when visiting.

It is truly sad to see a business serving the community for so long have to close their doors. Especially a place that served up some really good grub. One of my favorites from the restaurant was the double chili cheeseburger. That bad boy should have been its food group.
This just goes to show you how tough the economy is right now and how important it is to shop and dine locally. While chain restaurants continue to flourish and open new restaurants almost daily in Abilene, don't forget about the mom-and-pop stores that depend on local patrons.
Gloria's Grill, thank you for all of the great food you have provided to Abilene over the past 27 1/2 years. You will be greatly missed.
