Just when you thought your apps couldn't get any freakier then comes an app that helps you find an animal that looks like your deceased pet.

A little less freaky than cloning, right?

This app is called PetMatch.

Losing a family pet is tough. But, if you're looking to replace your furry friend with a near-identical match, then PetMatch can definitely help you out.

Basically, you upload a picture of your pet, then the app uses image search algorithms to look for pets with similar features. You can search based on location or similarity to your pet.

Personally, I think it's a little creepy. Yeah, you can find a pet that looks like the one you just lost, but you'll never be able to replace the personality of that dearly departed four-legged friend.

I give this app 2 'paws' out of 5. I'm sure some people will enjoy looking for another pet like their previous one, but I think it's a little creepy.
