On the heels of another disastrous season, the Dallas Cowboys have officially been demoted as "America's Team".  

As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan myself, I don't think I have to tell you how much it hurt my pride to write those words. But as another dismal season has come and gone and more mediocrity floods the house that Jerry built, even fans are understandably fed up with performance and the label, "America's Team".

Dallas Cowboys Number One Overrated Team In The NFL

The folks over at Action Network analyzed social media posts from fans on X and Reddit by analyzing posts with the word "overrated" in them. Based on their data they were able to determine the most overrated NFL teams, quarterbacks, and coaches of the 2024-25 season.

Based on these social posts, the Dallas Cowboys came out on top as the number one overrated team in the NFL which is a bit of a surprise since we were horrible last season.

Here's how the top 10 stacked up:

  • Philadelphia Eagles - 10,800 mentions
  • Kansas City Chiefs - 10,380 mentions
  • Pittsburgh Steelers - 7,860 mentions
  • Baltimore Ravens - 7,720 mentions
  • Green Bay Packers - 7,480 mentions
  • Miami Dolphins - 6,760 mentions
  • Buffalo Bills - 6,240 mentions
  • New York Jets - 5,740 mentions
  • Cleveland Browns - 4,940 mentions

Why Are The Dallas Cowboys Overrated?

Even with a losing season, it was a bit of a surprise that we are still considered to be an overrated team. I think that it all comes down to the Cowboys fanbase and how we act which is fair because we can be a little obnoxious sometimes. But aren't most fanbases?
