Attention, stable owners: The next time you’re trying to breed a particularly recalcitrant stud and mare, heed the advice of Coldplay singer Chris Martin.

According to Martin, the band’s hit single ‘Fix You’ has helped at least one breeder get his business off the ground. “We heard that there was a guy who couldn’t get his horse to breed properly,” he explained in a recent interview, Contact Music reports. “He played ‘Fix You’ and sex took place. Now he has the most expensive stud farm in Britain.”

Given Martin’s propensity for self-deprecating humor, we’d take this with a grain of salt — but at the very least, it’s another example of his down-to-earth approach to fame.

In fact, Martin mocked his celebrity status in the same interview, saying he uses his kids as a sort of litmus test for music he’s working on. “Kids are very honest – if they start singing a song it’s because they like it. It’s a great gauge,” he explained, adding, “When we played Wembley Stadium I was like, ‘Wow, now we are big rock stars,’ but next morning the kids were saying to me, ‘Get me some pancakes.’”
