Man Visits ATM, Finds $9.8 Billion In His Bank Account
Recently, Parijat Saha of Balurghat, India visited an ATM and found that someone had parked a few extra bucks in his bank account– $9.8 billion to be exact.
The State Bank of India’s electronic records accidentally put the billion dollar mistake in his account that was only supposed to have around $200 in US currency in it.
Saha works as a school teacher and only earned $700 a month, so it clearly wasn’t his to spend. So instead of going on the massive eating, drinking and buying bender that the rest of humanity would have when they found themselves with a few million extra bucks, he reported it to the bank.
It also wouldn’t have mattered if he tried to withdraw the money since the funds were “uncleared.” What a shame. It would’ve been nice for a bank to bail us out for once.
