Abilene Idol, the biggest fundraiser for Chorus Abilene, is holding auditions Saturday, February 21st, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Women’s Dillard’s Courtyard inside the Mall of Abilene.

Abilene Idol Age Categories and How Finalists Are Chosen

Judges will select 18 total finalists, broken down like this:

• 6 Adult finalists (18+)
• 6 Abilene Idol Jr. finalists (ages 13–17)
• 6 Mini Idol finalists (ages 6–12)

Each contestant performs one song of their choosing and gets two minutes in front of a three-judge panel. That’s just enough time to crush it… or realize you picked the wrong key.

How to Register for Abilene Idol Auditions

Registration is open now at Chorus Abilene’s website:

• $25 if you register before February 21
• $30 on audition day

Audition times and numbers are assigned when you register, so you’re not standing around the mall wondering if you should’ve picked a different song (you should’ve).

Abilene Idol Finale at the Paramount Theatre in Abilene

Finalists will head toward the big showdown on Saturday, March 21st, at the iconic and historic Paramount Theatre.

Final scores are based on:

• 60% Judges’ scores
• 20% Audience text vote
• 20% Fundraising

Yes, talent matters. But so does convincing your friends, family, coworkers, and that one neighbor who owes you a favor.

Abilene Idol Prizes, Scholarships, and Serious Bragging Rights

Cash prizes go to the top three winners in each category, with Adult winners taking home up to $500. All winners also receive a full-year scholarship with Chorus Abilene, which is a pretty incredible encore.
