It's a story that doesn't seem to go away. Every once in a while, Philip Anselmo discusses his desire to bring back Pantera, while drummer Vinnie Paul usually follows by squashing such talk. And so it goes again, with Anselmo sparking new Pantera rumors by discussing the possibility of the reunion and playing 'I'm Broken' onstage with former Pantera bassist Rex Brown and oft-mentioned potential Dimebag Darrell fill-in Zakk Wylde at a recent show.

Anselmo, speaking about the performance and the possibility of a Pantera reunion, stated in an interview with Matt Pinfield of Fanpass, "I think the situation would have to be correct," stated Anselmo. "If there was ever a proper presentation, like, OK, Pantera is back together, Zakk’s on guitar, that would be a massive feeling. That would be outrageous. And I would go to war. I would be in the best shape possible.”

But, as has become commonplace, Vinnie Paul was questioned about Pantera reunion talk in a new Revolver interview. His response, as expected, was less than hopeful on the matter. He stated, “If you had an ex-wife, and it was a pretty bitter split, you might not ever want to talk to her again. Who cares if everybody in the family and your friends want you to say hello again? It’s your choice whether you want to do it or not. And I think a lot of people are selfish. They say, ‘Oh, he oughta just kiss and make up with Phil and everything will be cool. And then they can go get Zakk Wylde and everything’s gonna be great.’ No, everything’s not gonna be great.”

So there you have it. Vinnie Paul continues to not budge on the possibility of playing with his former Pantera bandmates. But, he does have a pretty solid band to play with at the moment as Hellyeah are planning to release their 'Blood for Blood' album next month.
