It looks like director David Yates may have found his 'Tarzan' in Alexander Skarsgard -- the 'True Blood' actor has emerged as the clear and victorious front-runner for the job of "guy who wears loin cloth and hangs out in trees."

'Tarzan' is about to swing into a theater near you with a big-budget new reboot at Warner Bros. David Yates, who directed the last four 'Harry Potter' films, has committed to direct an adaptation of 'Tarzan of the Apes' after years of development at the studio. And who does the studio want to star as their jungle king? Why, their favorite 'Dark Knight Rises' villain, of course.

Cheetah, the chimp who starred in the Tarzan films of the 1930s, has died in the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in Palm Harbor, FL of kidney failure at the age of 80. The beloved ape moved into the sanctuary in 1960 after living on the estate of Johnny Weissmuller, who had portrayed Tarzan in the films.
