Winter is coming. It’s the phrase bookmarking dozens of Game of Thrones conversations, the motto for the Stark family itself, and now the fans anxious for bane of Season 7. A new interview sees showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss confirming Game of Thrones Season 7 will both shoot, and likely premiere later than usual, owing partially to a need for more wintery landscapes.

The “Battle of the Bastards” may be behind us, but Ser Davos’ fighting days are far from over when Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres. Some new photos see actor Liam Cunningham undergoing some bareknuckle (bare finger stump?) training from UFC fighter Conor McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh, just as The Mountain before him.

Whether or not Game of Thrones’ big “Battle of the Bastards” served any purpose but to unseat Ramsay Bolton, there’s no arguing the technical wizardry of the HBO drama’s first proper battle. And while we’ve gotten a few insights into production, check out the vast layering of FX shots in a new reel, to place soldier after soldier after giant after horse into one frame.

Now that all the dust, fire, blood and snow has settled on Game of Thrones Season 6, it’s a comfort to look back on the crazier theories that never came to pass. No, Lady Stoneheart won’t be joining the series, and Bran won’t be whispering sweet-nothings to the Mad King just yet, but above all else, we can finally let go of that dumb “Sansa is pregnant” theory. So says Sophie Turner herself!

Even diehard fans of HBO’s Scorsese-Jagger driven Vinyl knew that Season 2 would bring about some significant changes, but it looks like the record skipped after all. Despite setting a new showrunner after a formal Season 2 renewal, HBO has officially abandoned plans for Vinyl, effectively cancelling the prestigious flop.

Days ahead of the Season 6 finale, Game of Thrones fans don’t yet know how many more episodes lie ahead in Seasons 7 or 8, but that isn’t stopping the cast from cashing in. A new report suggests the bigger Game of Thrones stars are in for a major payday in the final seasons, simultaneously laying to rest theories of which character dies in “The Winds of Winter.”

Now that the dust has settled on Game of Thrones’ big “Battle of the Bastards,” production has gone in-depth with near-every aspect of the 30-minute battle sequence. Well, almost. At long last, Game of Thrones finally brought us its first proper battle in Sunday’s aptly-named “Battle of the Bastards,” offering everything we hoped it could be. So much work went into the final showdown between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton, that HBO released a full ten-minute featurette chronicling production.

Now that we’ve all swept up our jaws from the floor after Sunday’s “Battle of the Bastards,” Game of Thrones is already gearing up for its sixth season finale. “The Winds of Winter” are rising, even if Kings’ Landing seems anything but cold, with Cersei’s fiery trial and more looming in the first trailer.
