During an interview with Filter frontman Richard Patrick about the band's upcoming album 'The Sun Comes Out Tonight,' the musician shared an unnerving story about his wife. As Patrick's wife was driving her Prius, which sports a 'Ban Assault Weapons' bumper sticker, the singer says a car full of "God-proclaiming gun nuts" began to throw trash at her car, almost running her off the road.

After getting word earlier this year that Filter had signed to a new label and was working on a new album tentatively titled 'Gurney and the Burning Books,' the official title and release date have been announced. Now called 'The Sun Comes Out Tonight,' the album will be released June 4 via Wind-up Records.

Richard Patrick of Filter has confirmed that the band is heading back into the studio in April to start recording their new record, a follow up to 2010’s ‘The Trouble with Angels.’ They’ll be working with producer Bob Marlette whose impressive track record includes work with Black Sabbath, Saliva and Atreyu. The tentative title of the new disc is ‘Gurney and the Burning Books.’
