Snow In Abilene = Bad Driving [VIDEO]

Well, it looks like we have a decent chance of getting some snow tonight and tomorrow morning and with the snow, our driving habits in Abilene turn a bit on the crappy side.

Saying "a bit" or even "crappy" is being nice.

Now, I know we don't get much snow here in Abilene, or even Texas for that matter, but it would seem that a little common sense could go a long way.  It's the same thing when it rains.  People in Abilene get all crazy and think they can drive the same way they do when the roads are dry.  It pisses me off to no end when folks are all sliding around and wrecking into each other and all they had to do was one thing - slow down!

That is it.

It's not a secret.

If the roads are bad, simply lift off the gas pedal and avoid slamming on the brakes.  How hard is that to remember?

Yet, I'll see some genius roll past me while on the cell phone and then lose it and smack somebody else.  Then they have this bewildered look on their face wondering, "how in the heck did I lose it?".

It simply amazes me.

I also think it is funny how we practically shut down everything for a little snow. It's just snow people!

Might take a little longer to get to work, but it's really no big deal.  You see all the people up north get 10 times what we might be getting and they are still going to work, schools are still open and they are just fine.

Anyway, I'm going to get off my soap box now but if it does snow (and we do have a 30% of it happening) do yourself and everybody else a favor - slow down.  That's it!
