Say it ain’t so! It was the last full day of ShipRocked 2017 and it was a day at sea. The last batch of meet and greets took place in the morning with Alter Bridge, Avatar and all the many talented members of The Stowaways meeting fans.

Early performances included Chicago rockers Man the Mighty on the Deck Stage as well as Raveneye who also had meet and greet sessions at the merchandise store. Pot smokin’, beer drinkin’ New Orleans group Cane Hill performed their second set in the Adriatic Lounge and also had their meet and greet.

Other performances in the Adriatic Lounge included Them Guns and the very heavy Living Sacrifice whose energy and sound was far too massive for the intimate space. Letters From the Fire and Stitched Up Heart rounded out the performances in the Adriatic Lounge.

The main theater was home to a very special Q&A with a variety of members of many of the bands who took part in ShipRocked. Funky rock act Crobot kicked off the flurry of performances that took place in the theater. Filled with groovy dance moves, serious headbanging and powerful and harmonious rock melodies, Crobot delivered one of the most exciting sets ShipRocked 2017 had to offer. Songstress Lacey Sturm and Pop Evil also performed their hearts out in the theater.

One of the best performances didn’t take place on an actual stage at all, in the Atrium which is the main lobby atop a bar, vocalist Geoff Tate and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal  had a very special and majestic acoustic performance where ShipRockers lined the staircase to watch these two veteran musicians come together.

Party Animals came out in full force on the deck for the very awesome and very hilarious Wilson. A team of fans even donned Wilson shirts, volleyball shorts and uniquely decorated volleyballs in support of the band.

Heavy hitters like Alter Bridge and Breaking Benjamin rounded out performances on the Deck Stage were among the last sets of this year’s cruise. Both bands provided truly memorable sets that fans will carry with them until next year and for years to come. In fact, many cruisers headed back to work with serious ShipRocked withdrawal.  The withdrawal isn’t only from the relaxation of being on vacation but for many it’s reconnecting with old and new friends and creating memories with their favorite musicians. ShipRocked is much more than a cruise, it’s a family, a community, a culture and priceless experience for any rock fan.
