As far as physical professions go, being a musician is usually one of the most injury free occupations you could choose. Still, there are the occasional accidents that happen on the road and Shinedown bassist Eric Bass is feeling the effects of a performance mishap last night (March 22) in Lubbock, Texas.

Though details are sketchy as to what exactly happened, the rocker reportedly suffered a second degree ankle sprain during the show at the Lonestar Event Center last night. The injury earned him a trip to the hospital, but so far there’s been no word of the bassist missing any tour time.

Both Bass and the band tweeted out updates after the performance. Bass’ posting included a photo of him waiting in the ER room to be checked out. It can be seen here:

The band, meanwhile, offered a split photo of Bass performing onstage and a close-up of his swelled right ankle with a message asking fans to send their best wishes. Their posting can be seen here:

Shinedown are currently winding down the second leg of their tour with Three Days Grace and P.O.D. To see the remaining stops, click here. Our best wishes to Eric Bass as he guts out the remainder of the band’s tour.
