Halloween is here, and no matter what you have going on, you’ll need a spooky soundtrack for your party…or just to blast the little ghouls and goblins out that are coming to your door for candy.  So, let’s look at 10 songs you can turn up loud and proud to get into the spirit of Halloween.

Misfits ‘Halloween’

This song just screams Halloween not only because of the title, but the song comes from the Misfits album ’12 Hits From Hell’.  Halloween and The Misfits go together like peas and carrots.

Blue Oyster Cult ‘Don’t Fear The Reaper’

This song was featured in the 1979 movie ‘Halloween’, so this is a no brainer.  Plus, it’s just a cool song to kick back and…relax to.

Slayer ‘Raining Blood’

The song comes from the album ‘Reign in Blood’ which got a lot of people thinking the band supported Nazism.  Of course, that turned out to be not true.  Turn this one up to max level!

Alice Cooper ‘Feed My Frankenstein’

Many don’t know this, but this song featured many rock stars including Nikki Sixx, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.  Of course, this song may be best known for being featured on the movie ‘Wayne’s World’.

Helloween ‘Halloween’

Well, you can’t have a list of Halloween songs without mentioning the band that actually named themselves after the holiday.

Black Sabbath ‘Black Sabbath’

This song epitomizes creepy and Halloween.

Dokken ‘Dream Warriors’

This song will forever be connected to the movie ‘Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warrior’ which, in my opinion, was the best one of the franchise. Time to go rockin’ with Dokken.

Type O Negative ‘Black No. 1(Little Miss Scare All)

This song could easily be at the top spot for me.  In fact, really any song from Type O Negative could be featured as a Halloween song, but this one is definitely the best.

Marilyn Manson ‘This is Halloween’

What kind of Halloween soundtrack would we have without this Manson tune?  This song was featured in the 1993 movie ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’.  In fact, I included the Tim Burton video version.

Rob Zombie ‘Dragula’

You could include pretty much any song from either White Zombie or Rob Zombie’s solo stuff on this list, but this one is definitely my favorite.

What songs would you add to the list?
