Since the game sucked, might as well stir up controversy over the halftime show.

It appears Flea, of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, wasn't plugged in during their halftime performance at Super Bowl XLVIII and many are crying foul.

After closer looks at images taken, it definitely appears as if Flea doesn't have his bass plugged in. Some are saying he's wireless. Well, if so, his wireless pack would still be plugged into the guitar. Some are saying he has a different wiring harness that we can't see. Some are pretty upset and some don't care because of the RHCP legacy.

Not that I'm a Super Bowl producer or a bassist in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but my guess is because of the weather conditions, they were forced to mime the performance as they wouldn't be able to keep their instruments properly tuned the entire time. That's logical and entirely possible, but at this point we just don't know.

Many are also saying that Bruno Mars' band mimed their performance too (even though their guitars appeared to be plugged in).

Now, we're not saying anyone lip-synced, because it was obvious the vocals and drums were live. All we're saying is that pictures show Flea's bass unplugged.

So, how does that impact your feelings about the Red Hot Chili Peppers and their performance? Do you really care?
