Usually on the weekends, I'm able to jump on my PS3 and play some 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' with my buddy who lives in Washington or any number of other people online. This weekend, I kept getting a "Playstation network down for maintenance" message so I was unable to play my game. Little did I know that apparently, the Playstation Network has been hacked.

That sucks! I mean, I'm not the kind of gamer that plays for like 12 hours straight all day, everyday, but I do enjoy playing from time to time, and being able to get online and destroy other people's gamer dreams while sipping on a cold brew is just plain fun! Yeah, so not only am I not able to get online to play other people, but now my mindset is if my credit card information is safe.

Sony Computer Entertainment spokesman Satoshi Fukuoka said the company was conducting a "thorough investigation" into the outage, which began April 20.He said Sony did not yet know if users' credit card information or other personal information had been compromised in the attack, but the company would immediately inform users if it had.

The outage is going on it's 6th day now with no word on how close a solution is. Patrick Seybold, Sony senior director of corporate communications and social media said this:

"Unfortunately, I don't have an update or timeframe to share at this point in time," Seybold wrote. "We'll keep you updated with information as it becomes available."

Meanwhile, over 75 million users are without Playstation Network capabilities including myself although, obviously, you can still play your game, just not with someone online.

You know, I never had any problems like this with my Atari 2600. I digress.

Are you pissed about the network being hacked? Are you having online game withdrawals? Will Sonny Corinthos go back and bitch slap Anthony in jail?
