Incarcerated Pimp Sues Nike for $100 Million Because Its Sneakers Are Weapons

It’s gotta be the shoes.

A pimp from Portland, Oregon who is serving 100 years in jail for bludgeoning a john with a pair of Jordans, is suing Nike for $100 million, claiming the sneaker company failed to disclose its shoes could be used as a dangerous weapon.

Sirgiorgiro Clardy, 26, argues Nike should have placed a label in the shoes. In 2012, he was wearing Jordans when he attacked a man for trying to leave a hotel without paying a prostitute. The victim was pummeled so badly by the sneakers that he needed stitches and plastic surgery.

Clardy, who is representing himself in the case, wrote in his complaint that Nike executives and chairman Phil Knight failed to provide adequate warning:

Under product liability there is a certain standard of care that is required to be up-held by potentially dangerous product….Do (sic) to the fact that these defendants named in this Tort claim failed to warn of risk or to provide an adequate warning or instruction it has caused personal injury in the likes of mental suffering.”

Clardy was also convicted of robbing the man and beating the woman to the point she bled from her ears.
