According to many sources, including Fox Sports, Joe Paterno has been fired from his position as head coach of the Penn State football team amidst the child sex scandal that has plagued the school and football program.

Earlier in the day, Paterno said he would retire at the end of the football season, but the winningest coach in FBS history has been fired, effective immediately.

Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley will replace Joe Paterno as the interim coach for the remainder of this season.
