It was short track racing at it's best, and a wild one at that, as Ryan Newman took advantage of two Hendrick Motorsports teammates crashing,  after dominating the race,  to win the Goody's Fast Relief 500 in Martinsville this past weekend.

Hendrick Motorsports were in the perfect position to get their 200th Sprint Cup win as Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon were running first and second with just a few laps to go.  However, on lap 498 of 500, a caution caused by David Reutimann sent the race into a green/white checkered finish, the overtime of NASCAR racing.

In the overtime period, with Johnson and Gordon still running 1st and 2nd respectively, both crashed after Clint Bowyer tried to sneak underneath the two and that allowed Ryan Newman to get the win and gave Stewart Haas Racing their 3rd win in 6 races so far this season.

Dale Earnahardt Jr. had  a good run and was in position to win the race as well, but after Newman got the lead, he pretty much just drove off for the win.

Here's how the rest of the top 10 looked.
