NASCAR Driver Jeremy Clements Suspended Indefinitely for Violating Code of Conduct

You might remember Nationwide Series driver Jeremy Clements, who together with rockers Hell Yeah, teamed up with FanPyre to co-brand his car in an upcoming race.  Well, apparently, the dude has been suspended by NASCAR for violating the code of conduct.

On Feb. 23 at Daytona International Speedway, Clements was found to have violated Sections 7-5  and 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) in NASCAR’s Code of Conduct.

NASCAR senior vice president of racing operations, Steve O’Donnell said this:

“During the course of an interview, Jeremy Clements made an intolerable and insensitive remark. NASCAR has a Code of Conduct that’s explicitly spelled out in the 2013 NASCAR Rule Book. We fully expect our entire industry to adhere to that Code.”

No word yet exactly what he said, but our guess is that it was pretty bad.  Also, there is no word yet on whether or not Hell Yeah will still co-brand the car that was supposed to have fan sponsors with their name decaled on the car.  The car is supposed to race April 26th in Richmond, and broadcast live on ESPN.

Here’s the video of Vinnie Paul of Hell Yeah, talking about the FanPyre Campaign.
