Megadeth and Dio Are Neck and Neck in Round 1 of March Metal Madness

Our first annual March Metal Madness elimination competition has been getting an insane amount of votes thanks to all you metal fans out there. So far throughout all four regions and 16 head-to-head battles, the most grueling matchup has been between Megadeth and Dio.

The race between Megadeth’s ‘Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?’ and Dio’s ‘Holy Diver’ has been neck and neck ever since the matchup was posted on Monday, March 12. Dio took an early lead in the battle, but after thousands upon thousands of votes, Megadeth has overtaken ‘Holy Diver’ but only a few hundred votes. At one point, the two tracks were only separated by only ‘TH1RT3EN’ votes. An omen perhaps?

Within the rest of the Devil Horn Division, Van Halen‘s ‘Runnin’ with the Devil’ is narrowly beating Marilyn Manson‘s ‘The Beautiful People’; Black Sabbath have been keeping a comfortable lead in their match against Sepultura; and Slayer fans have been carving out a path to victory against Korn.

Keep the votes coming and get ready for this coming Monday when 32 become 16 in the next round of Loudwire’s March Metal Madness!
