Linkin Park gave their fans a big surprise on Wednesday, March 5th when they released their brand new single "Guilty All the Same". Fans came across the song when searching for the band in the Shazam app. While some in radio saw the single coming, the arrival was a surprise to most.

Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda exclaimed that this was the perfect song to reintroduce fans to the band.

While Linkin Park have had no problems experimenting with their sound over the years, this new song definitely harkens back the hard rock side of the band from their debut album "Hybrid Theory". The song also features a few rhymes from legendary rapper Rakim.

This is a guitar-heavy song and if the rest of the album is even close to this, then we're in for one hell of a ride. I, for one, am glad Linkin Park are going back to their hard rock roots. Even if it's for just one song.

No word on a release date for the new album has been given.

Linkin Park will be embarking on a tour with 30 Second to Mars this summer.
