For a sneak peek trailer of a video, there sure is a lot going on. But would you expect any less when Jack White hires Hype Williams to helm the clip for his ‘Freedom At 21′ single? The living indie legend and the legendary hip-hop video director who lives up to his first name have never worked together before, but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a sweet collaboration. From the looks of the clip, it will mos definitely live up to any hype that it gets.

Williams is most famous for his videos with Tupac Shakur, Jay-Z, Kanye West and the likes, although he’s occasionally stepped outside that world and worked with Coldplay and Hoobastank. For his collaboration with White, Williams mines a style somewhere between grindhouse horror and perhaps something Quentin Tarantino might dream up, with speeding muscle cars, ruthless cops and White himself shredding on guitar all making appearances. The video debuts on Monday, July 16.

The song is the second single off White’s debut solo album, ‘Blunderbuss,’ which made a big splash by debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard albums chart when it dropped earlier this year. Copies of the so-called “balloon single” vinyl version of the song — so named because copies of it were it released into the sky via a helium balloon launch — fetched nearly $2,000 on eBay earlier this year.
