When I come on the radio each day it is my goal to sponsor positivity. I think you need to know that to know where I'm coming from when I say, "doesn't it seem like holidays are meant to bring a certain percentage of the population down?".  You feel crappy if you don't have a Valentine, if you can't buy Xmas gifts, or if there is a hole in your heart on Fathers Day.

There's no way to "win" with fathers day. You may be lucky enough to have your kid and your dad, but your dad probably doesn't have his dad and so one. All you have to do is follow the trail just a little bit and fathers day is a bummer somewhere in everybody's family.

Then there are those of us who have suffered tragedies with our kids and have lost or don't know our fathers. Almost worse are those who are being kept from visiting with their kids, knowing full well that as every day ticks by they know them less and less.  I don't have answers for you. "Why?" is probably the most powerful question in the universe and the answer is no better than "shit happens". Sorry, but the randomness of it all sometimes just adds up to a giant math problem that doesn't have an answer.

It almost sounds like a hollow sentiment at this point, but I just want you to know you are not alone. There are some of us who dread this day or hate it with a fiery passion. Just remember that it is just "a day". Things could improve tomorrow, or at least the pain might become a little less paralyzing.  As men we're supposed to "suck it up" and not let it get to us, but it still does. I'm here to tell you that if you just keep the wind at your back and keep pushing forward, maybe one of these days you'll enjoy this day with a smile.  Happy Fathers Day.

Here's some Father's Day laughs for you, maybe it will turn your day around:
