There’s a lot of anticipation for Dave Grohl‘s forthcoming documentary, ‘Sound City,’ and now fans can circle Feb. 1 on their calendars as that is the date for the worldwide release of the set.

The film, which documents the legendary studio’s history and in particular the Neve 8028 console that was responsible for some of music’s greatest recordings, will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah in January prior to its wide-scale release.

The general public will be able to purchase the film as a digital download on Feb. 1 for $10. Pre-orders are currently being taken here.

Grohl directed and produced the film himself, gathering some of the amazing talent that has worked out of Sound City’s Hollywood establishment over the last few decades. Check out the trailer for the film here.

In other Grohl news, the singer served as the guest host for the E! Channel’s ‘Chelsea Lately‘ Thursday night. During one of the segments, Grohl broke down why pop star Justin Bieber wasn’t nominated for a Grammy. “Is anyone really surprised?” asked Grohl. “Honestly, he’s dancing around so much, it’s probably better his microphone isn’t on because if it were, it’d just be like, ‘UHHHUHHHH.’” Grohl says he holds nothing against Bieber and adds that if he were a 19-year-old millionaire, he’d probably look exactly like the singer. Footage of the discussion can be seen below.

The Foo Fighters singer, who turned up earlier this month to salute Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors, also spoke about playing in Them Crooked Vultures with Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones. He told CBS Local, “It was one of the highlights of my life when John Paul Jones said, ‘Now I’ve been in two great bands.’ That was a huge deal for me.”
