Our beloved radio brother Frank Pain (Keith Hayes) has experienced a devastating event recently in the unexpected death of his soulmate and wife Melissa. While I cannot fully imagine the emotions Frank is experiencing, I know there are some financial burdens he is sifting through. With all of the unselfish work that Frank has done for our community, it is our turn to help him.

The awesome folks over at Fatboy's are holding a benefit to assist the family of Frank and Melissa during this incredibly hard time.

This Saturday, September 16, stop by Fatboy's at 525 Arnold Blvd - anytime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. - to show your support. There will be live music from The Hill Brothers, Mexican Phil, Jon Hester, Danny Jaymes, and One Last Attempt. Along with barbeque and Zombie Cones, there will be a 50/50 raffle as well. All proceeds will benefit the family of Melissa.

Throughout his 30-plus years in radio, Frank has not only advocated for the live music scene in Abilene, but his drive to support our community has been unmatched. Even outside of radio, his passion remains to help others and to do everything he can to accomplish that goal.

As someone who has known Frank personally for over 25 years, I can't begin to explain the hurt and sorrow I feel for my brother.

Please help if you can. Even if you drop by for just a minute, I know Frank will appreciate it. At the very least, please spread the word about this event as we continue to support our brother during this difficult time.

We love you, Frank Pain. #beagoodhuman
