Relay For Life events tend to be more of a celebration and opportunity to hang out with friends than a fundraiser. The Relay For Life of Shackelford County Shamrock Shuffle 5K is no exception. It's coming March 9th at Bank Park in Albany, and participants are encouraged to dress in green and/or purple, and awards will be given to the best costumes.
February is American Heart Month, and a number of celebrities have gotten in on the message—in particular, Allison Janney. Janney is now the spokesperson for Go Red for Women, a campaign by the American Heart Association aimed at spreading awareness that the number one killer of women (and men) is heart disease.

If you've always lived your life by the age-old myth that you can burn 300 calories every time you knock athletic shoes with your partner in carnal knowledge, a new study suggests that you might want to start bumping uglies on a stationary bike or elliptical machine – recent findings show the average person only burns roughly 21 calories while barely sweating it out in the sack.
