Halloween is just around the corner and everyone is picking out their costume and getting their parties planned. For those of us who would rather sit home and watch a movie, I have some that will scare the pants off of you.

So the movies on my list this year include many I've actually never seen....yet! They have been suggested by friends, co-workers and listeners.

The Nun

The Nun was suggested by my son, who saw it in a theater and was then scared to walk out to his car afterwards (Don't tell him I told you that though). This is part of the 'Conjuring' series and should provide a good scare.

Halloween (2018)

If you're a fan of Michael Myers...good news, he's back! This Halloween movie has only been out a week or two so it's still in theaters. This is the eleventh movie in the series that debuted in 1978 and sees Jamie Lee Curtis return as Laurie Strode in a final confrontation with Myers. Reviews have been great so you might want to catch this one.

Insidious: The Last Key

This is also part of a serious and has Dr. Elise Rainier, parapsychologist, returning to her childhood home to find the root of it's haunting. That 'haunting' or 'demon' is something she set free many years before and now must destroy before it's too late.

The Haunting of Hill House (Netflix Series)

This is actually a Netflix series, not a movie per se, but it is quite intriguing. The first season was just released this month and consists of 10 episodes. I'm currently on episode 7 and not sure what I will do when it ends. It's so good! It's based on the book of the same name about a family with 5 kids that grew up in the most haunted house in America. You think you're family has problems; just wait until you see what follows these siblings into adulthood.

 Hocus Pocus

So this movie is just more for fun. It's not scary and you can watch it with the kids. It's been a favorite for many since it's release in 1993. Honestly, I've never seen it. However, I will be catching it this year at the Paramount, on Halloween night. Sometimes you just have to give in to the hype.
