Bar Fight! Canned Beer – Dale’s Pale Ale vs. Phoenix Pale Ale

Oskar / Slyfox Brewing

Welcome to Bar Fight, the weekly competition where two beers, liquors or mixed drinks fight it out and only one can come out on top…before hitting the bottom of our stomach. In this week’s match-up, someone is getting kicked in the can.

Canned beers should not be overlooked. Sometimes considered low brow because they are mostly associated with being cheap, and largely distributed by the macro-breweries. In actuality cans make a better vessel to contain beer and the craft beer movement is taking advantage of that. No light gets in and for the most part they are air tight keeping the beer fresh.

This week, we match-up two canned beer heavy hitters– Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale and Slyfox Brewing Co. Phoenix Pale Ale. Both of these breweries know how to make a absolutely delicious canned beer. We want to know what you think.

Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale

Touted as America’s first hand-canned craft beer, Dale’s Pale Ale is a classic. Rich and flavorful with a medium hoppy body, DPA keeps you going back for another sip. Craft brewed by Oskar Blues in Longmont, CO. and named after the breweries iconic founder Dick “Dale” Katechis, DPA is a classic representation of the American Style Pale Ale.

Slyfox Brewing Co. Phoenix Pale Ale

From Phoenixville, PA, Sly Fox Phoenix Pale Ale bowls you over with its crisp beginnings and smooth hoppy finish. Although, it does have a distinct toasty uniqueness which is rarely found in American style pale ales. Sly Fox is an award winning brewery with a fantastic line of canned beers that are sure to please everyone.
