Wes

I joined the FMX staff not long after the station was formed in 1981. Worked my way up to mornings (The Breakfast Flakes) & bossman. Did radio Austin for a couple years, and about a year and a half in lovely Spokane Washington. Got a call to come back to Lubbock as bossman and did not leave. Did mornings as "Jacqui & Wes", rocked some middays and eventually put the RockShow together with the Heathen. I am also midday host on another one for the most respected radio stations in America, the legendary Rock 108 in Abilene and enjoy my many visits to the city. I love blogging and am one of the most widely read bloggers in the company with over a million page views last year. I work on several websites and a bunch of social media. I am not afraid of stating ANY opinion; I feel it's important to be real. I am co-owner of Nightmare on 19th Street and the soon to be launched "Freaky Tiki Tavern" in Lubbock. I believe strongly in blood donation and in helping animals. My musical tastes are all over the map.

Just think of how many thousands of bands have been popular, then faded away, while Hendrix is still popular.

Why I Won’t Paint A Support The Police Blue Stripe On My Curb

There is a simple reason why I won't be putting a "Support The Police" blue line on my curb, or an "I support the police" bumpersticker on my car.  I think support for the police should be an unspoken thing that we all live by. I repeat, there should be no question that we support the police, painted blue line or not.

Van Halen Rarity All Day And All Of The Night Released And It’s Not Horrible

Sorry for the snarky headline, I have much love for Van Halen. It's just some bands have a bunch of great stuff stashed and others put all the great stuff out. I've heard a bunch of Van Halen rarities and they were all pretty terrible, ranging from the band being off to the recording itself being awful. This release, at least most of it, is a pretty accurate representative of Van Halen back in the day.
