Forward-thinking metal band Chimaira are apparently slowly morphing into proggy death metal band Daath — which isn’t a bad thing, as evidenced by Chimaira’s excellent 2011 album ‘The Age of Hell,’ which featured Daath guitarist Emil Werstler (on bass) and Daath keyboardist Sean Zatorsky.
Down frontman Phil Anselmo has recorded a 45-second video message updating fans on the band’s upcoming, yet-untitled EP and wishing fans happy holidays. Anselmo posted the recording shortly after recording vocals at Nodferatu’s lair, the barn studio on his 17 acre property in south Louisiana.
