It's never a great thing when a show ends early. Fans in Belfast, Ireland were definitely upset after Volbeat's performance Thursday night (Oct. 3) wrapped almost immediately after it began.

The group opened their show with "Pelvis on Fire," but toward the end of the performance, Michael Poulsen and the group walked offstage. The group reportedly tried again, about 10 minutes later, but also shut things down, with the announcement being eventually made to the confused crowd that the concert had been cancelled.

As you might expect, fan reaction was swift, expressing their discontent on social media over the results from the evening.

Volbeat eventually relayed an explanation on social media which can be read below:

We in Volbeat want to extend our most heartfelt apologies for having to cancel tonight’s show in Belfast. As many of you know, Michael has been having some throat issues and we ran into multiple technical issues on stage that prevented the band from being able to hear each other play. While he has mostly recovered his voice at this point, it was decided that had he continued to play the show this way he would have risked blowing out his voice again and having to cancel even more shows. We’re gutted that we weren’t able to perform for you tonight, but we will be back to reschedule the show as soon as we possibly can.

Volbeat have been touring in support of their Rewind, Replay, Rebound album. Dates for their current touring can be found here. The band is set to play in Dublin tonight (Oct. 4) and Paris on Sunday (Oct. 6). As of press time, both shows are still on.
