Remember the TV show Life with Damian Lewis? It was all about a police officer who was wrongfully accused of a crime. He was sent away to solitary confinement, and when it came out he was innocent, he was given a huge compensation package that was rumored to be worth about $50 million.

Well, that was fiction. Although compensations aren't completely unheard of, in the case of Alfred Dewayne Brown, he is getting nothing for the 12 years he spent on death row for a murder he didn't commit.

Last month a judge ruled that Brown was innocent of a 2003 murder of a Houston police officer. If you would like more background on the case CLICK HERE.

Under state law, Brown is technically owed almost $ 2 million in compensation, but the state's comptroller's office has been rather vague when it comes to details as to why they are declining any compensation for Brown.
