It's time to get to know Prayers. The upstart duo of singer Leafar Seyer and Dave Parley have been generating plenty of buzz in the lead up to their Baptism of Thieves album, and they're teaming up with Loudwire to bring you the exclusive premiere of their new song "Edge of the Blade."

With a darkly catchy synth line hinting at something a bit more sinister providing the base, Seyer dances the line of rapping and singing over the verses, while utilizing a more demonic voice at times in the chorus. "Edge of the Blade" is just the beginning of a disc that offers gritty lyrics pulled from Seyer's previous street life as part of San Diego's Sherman Grant Hill Park 27 gang, while also exploring more universal themes of love and loss as well. With a mix of urban, goth and rock influences, Prayers bring something fresh to the table that has been dubbed Cholo Goth.

Seyer tells us, "'Edge of the Blade’ is a fragmented outlook into the layers of my multiple realities that I live simultaneously. As above so below, as within so without. In this invocation I am allowing my demons to speak for me by throwing myself into the fire.”

If you like what you hear, Prayers will release their Baptism of Thieves album through BMG on Nov. 24. Pre-orders for the album will start tomorrow at this location.
