The historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Abilene is continuing on with it's themed film series. This time of year you'll get to enjoy many holiday classic films that are both new and old.

This week don't miss out on your opportunity to watch "The Princess Bride" in the historic surroundings at the Paramount Theatre located at 352 Cypress Street. The film will be shown both Friday, November 13th at 7:30 pm and Saturday, November 14th at 7:30 pm.

"The Princess Bride" is an adaptation from William Golden's 1970's novel by the same name. As in most fairy tales, the young prince and or as in this case a brave warrior, must find his one true love and save her from the forces of evil.

Both the princess and her one true love will battle the 'evils of the mythical kingdom of Florin' in order to be reunited with each other and live happily ever after. For tickets, buy them in advance online at AbileneThundrTix.com due to limited capacity. Adults are $7 and children are $6.

As with most venues in Abilene and around the Big Country CDC guidelines must be followed.

The Paramount Theatre had issued a statement back in August stating: We are following the health and safety guidelines issued from state and local officials, we are putting into place the following safeguards and limits to ensure that both patrons and staff are as protected as possible during this transitional period. The Theatre will reopen with new revised scheduling to ensure staff adequate time to clean and disinfect the building between events. Only the Theatre’s auditorium, lobby, and mezzanine will be open to the public at this time.

Paramount Theatre rentals will resume with limited capacity set by local and state guidelines. All bookings will be carefully reviewed by the Executive Director, Technical Director, Events Manager, and Business Manager. To allow for proper social distancing, we will be operating at 50% capacity or less. Paramount staff will be closely monitoring the number of patrons in and out of the theatre.  Everyone 10 years of age and over will be required to wear a face mask. Everyone under 10 years of age is strongly encouraged to wear a mask.
