I'm not buying the conspiracy theory that the Conor McGregor incident before UFC 223 was staged. That the UFC and McGregor had this elaborate plan to build up a future fight. People got hurt. Fights had to be cancelled at the last minute. You don't stage something that could possibly wind up like that.

But what I am buying is that Dana White isn't letting Conor McGregor go anywhere. He's a cash cow at this point, and if he books a Khabib vs McGregor fight, that could easily be the UFC's highest grossing pay-per-view ever. Which is why I wasn't buying the stuff that White said right after the dust up around the buses.

White tried to sell everybody on the fact that he didn't want to work with McGregor anymore, and nobody was going to want to work with McGregor. Of course, money changes everything.

If White were to book a Khabib vs McGregor fight, it could easily be the UFC's highest grossing pay-per-view ever. A Khabib vs GSP pay-per-view wouldn't be so bad, but it wouldn't bring in near as money as a Khabib vs McGregor fight would. After UFC 223, White said:

“We talked. It’s good. I think that there’s a mutual respect between us and obviously this week, I had so many things thrown at me. To focus on this show was insane. We’ll get back and we’ll focus on Conor McGregor.”

Another name that has been floated out there as a possible opponent for McGregor would be Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather has said that if he comes back to fight, it would be in the Octagon.

So I'm putting this out there right now. Your co-main events for a future UFC pay-per-view? Khabib vs GSP, and Mayweather vs McGregor. Can you imagine if both Khabib and McGregor won?
