Congrats are in order for Metallica, Guns N' Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers, who each heard their names called when the Billboard Music Awards nominations were revealed.

The nominations take into account digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and social engagement, with Billboard monitoring the data throughout the year. And while many of the nominees fall outside of the hard rock and metal spectrum, the three acts broke through to be nominated.

Guns N' Roses snagged three nominations. They're up for Top Duo/Group, where they square off against acts from all genres with their competition being Coldplay, the Chainsmokers, Florida Georgia Line and Twenty One Pilots. They also scored a nomination in the Top Touring Artist category where they'll battle Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band for the honor. And their final nod came in the Top Rock Tour category, where they square off against Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band.

Metallica, meanwhile, also received a pair of nominations. They are up for Top Rock Artist against Coldplay, the Lumineers, Twenty One Pilots and X Ambassadors. They also scored a nod in the Top Rock Album category as Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct goes up against albums from The Lumineers (Cleopatra), Radiohead (A Moon Shaped Pool), Red Hot Chili Peppers (The Getaway) and Twenty One Pilots (Blurryface). The Chili Peppers nod in the Top Rock Album category was their sole nomination.

The Billboard Music Awards winners will be revealed May 21 with the award show airing on ABC at 8PM ET/PT. See all of the nominees in all of the categories here.
