James Durbin is on his way back with a new album, and the rocker is teaming up with Loudwire to exclusively bring you the first taste of music from the disc with a new video called "Smackdown."

As you can hear, the track is a full-on rocker for Durbin, as he and his band perform the track accentuated by wrestlers driving home the "smackdown" theme by grappling in the ring.

Durbin tells us, "We recorded 'Smackdown' as a band, all live instruments and zero autotune which we highly encourage. I'm stoked to share 'Smackdown' with Loudwire first as 'Smackdown' is loud, raw and in your face and fits the Loudwire vibe perfectly."

"Smackdown" will be the lead single from his still-untitled third album. If you like what you hear, you can currently get "Smackdown" via CDBaby.

While we wait for details to be finalized on Durbin's new disc, you can catch the former American Idol contestant returning to the show that helped launch his career. He'll take part in the Idol series finale on Thursday, April 7, appearing alongside such former Idol breakout performers as Chris Daughtry, David Cook, Bo Bice, Kelly Clarkson and more.
