Texas Ranked One of America’s Most Haunted States

El Paso has it’s share of creepy urban  legends and ghost stories and If you’ve ever felt a chill while walking past an abandoned mission or heard footsteps in a dusty El Paso hotel, turns out you might not be imagining things. A new report ranked the most and least haunted states in America and Texas came in at number TWO. Yup. El Paso and the rest of Texas is full of ghosts apparently.

Texas Is One of the Most Haunted States in America — And Honestly, We’re Not Surprised 

The study, which was done by casino.ca, analyzed ghost sightings across North America and broke them down by how many were reported per 10,000 people. New York took the top spot with 81 sightings per 10,000 residents. Texas wasn’t far behind, proving that we don’t just do BBQ and football big! We do big hauntings too.

From the creepy halls of the Emily Morgan Hotel in San Antonio (once a hospital, of course it’s haunted) to the restless spirits said to wander the Magnolia Hotel in Seguin, Texas ghosts stay busy. And if you’ve ever spent a night in the old West Texas towns where the wind howls through boarded-up window well, you know.

Meanwhile, Georgia is living its best non-haunted life, ranking dead last with just six sightings per 10,000 people. Guess the spirits just prefer wide-open Texas skies. I don’t blame them!
