Who doesn't love nachos? It's a dish that is perfect for sharing- but even better when they're your own!

In Texas we certainly take our nachos seriously! But when it comes to what we're putting on them- besides cheese- what else do we like on our nachos?

Nachos are easily customizable, making it a crowd favorite because everyone can get what they want on them; but in Texas, it would seem as though we have our preferences, that's at least according to Shane Co., who compiled a list of the "ideal plate of nachos from each state."

After some very thorough researching, and by that I mean the folks over at Shane Co. surveyed people across the U.S. over a two-week period in October 2023 and asked them to build their ideal plate of nachos- Shane Co. found that every state builds its perfect plate of nachos differently!

Overall, they found that ground beef was almost a must-have topping in almost every state.

As for how Texas likes to top it's nachos, they must include ground beef, refried beans, avocado, onion, tomato, cheddar, salsa and sour cream! Also, it looks like our neighbors in Oklahoma also like that combination!

Another fun fact Shane Co. found is that the majority, 57% of respondents, preferred to savor their nachos at a restaurant rather than make them at home. And if you're in El Paso, Texas you know that the only place you can get great nachos is like is The Tap!

I'm not exaggerating when I say they're the best, even Vice agreed because they wrote an entire article on everyone's love for The Tap's nachos!
