The small Texas town of Hondo recently made the headlines, but perhaps in a manner more disturbing than some would prefer. You see, Hondo PD received a call from a concerned homeowner after they found what they thought were loose teeth scattered in their yard.

It turns out that they were correct! That's right, HUMAN TEETH were discovered, but not just a few. Following an unsettling investigation that involved a lot of digging, officers found over 100 real human teeth buried in the private property.

Texas Police Department Find Buried Teeth in Backyard

Hondo PD took to Facebook in a post that some. may find disturbing. But wait! There's a perfectly normal explanation. well, I'm not sure it's normal, but an explanation nonetheless.

Yes, Texas Police Actually Did Find These Teeth Buried in a Backyard

The truth was finally revealed as to why so many human teeth were found on this Texas property. It turns out that the home's previous owners, up to 70 years ago, were practicing dentists.

Shocking revelation: Surviving family members told police that it's an old dentist tradition to bury teeth for good luck when selling a home.

I have a few questions about this. First, why do they have to be other people's teeth? That seems like some weird voodoo going on, but hey, I'm not a dentist. Also, why so many?? I can see tossing one or two teeth in the backyard for some good luck, but over 100? I mean, they were only trying to sell one house, right?

But anyway, Hondo PD assured the public that no crime was committed, and all the teeth were legally removed during approved dental visits back in the day.

Still kinda creepy though...
