17-year-old Aubrey Vanlandingham is facing felony charges after allegedly poisoning and killing her classmate at Vista Ridge High School's goat with pesticides.

Security footage from October 23rd, 2024 shows a female student using a drench gun to administer toxic pesticides to a goat named "Willie". The goat sadly died roughly 21 hours after it began experiencing symptoms like respiratory distress and convulsions from the alleged pesticides.

The suspect, Aubrey Vanlandingham confessed to police that she purposefully poisoned Willie because she thought the goat's owner was "a cheater." She also admitted that this was not the first time she had tried to poison Willie. It was the second.

Pathologists confirmed the goat died from organophosphate intoxication from phosmet, which is a pesticide most commonly used for external parasite control.

Investigators also discovered a search history in Vanlandingham's phone about lethal doses of bleach and other methods of poisoning animals. She also allegedly searched the phrase "How to clear search history."

Vanlandingham was arrested on November 22nd and subsequently charged with cruelty to livestock which is a felony in the state of Texas. She was released from jail the same day on a $5,000 bond.
