Originally a Broadway play in 1987, 'Steel Magnolias' was made into the Golde Globe Award winning film starring Julia Roberts, Dolly Parton, Daryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis, Shirley MacClain, Sally Field and Tom Skerritt in 1989. The story centers around a small town beauty shop, owned by Truvy Jones (Parton in the movie). It's loaded with comedy, but 'Steel Magnolias' is best remembered for its tragic ending.
