Drowning Pool are in the studio to begin recording their seventh studio album. On Feb. 5, the nu-metal band posted a classic studio whiteboard to their Facebook page, outlining working titles for songs and each part (drums, guitar, vocals etc.) to be recorded.

Drowning Pool’s most recent album, Hellelujah, came out in 2015. The record received fairly positive reviews, but didn’t produce any singles as large as “One Finger and a Fist” from their fifth album, Resilience. Of course, Drowning Pool will always be remembered for their breakout hit, “Bodies,” which will soon cross 100 million views on YouTube.

The band’s Facebook post is light on details, simply reading, “The beginning….” above a whiteboard just waiting to be filled in:

If you look closely, you can see some of the working titles for new tracks include, “Red,” “Strike,” “Devil,” “Hate,” “Choke” and the slightly more ambiguous “Hufufu.”

Could Drowning Pool become yet another act to release new music in 2019? The list of bands is growing by the day, signaling an incredibly vibrant year for rock and metal.
