The Cowboys have not gotten off to the kind of start they were hoping to, but thankfully, neither has anyone in the NFC East. Right now the standings look like this:

  1. Washington Redskins 2-2
  2. Dallas Cowboys 2-3
  3. Philadelphia Eagles 2-3
  4. New York Giants 1-4

Yup, sitting at just 2 and 3 on the season, the Cowboys are above the Super Bowl Champion Eagles, and are only a half game out of first behind the Redskins.

One area where the Cowboys have been winning this season is in the ratings. Which isn't bad for a team with that record, and even a team that hasn't made the NFC Title game since 1995.

Sunday night's game against the Texans drew a rating of 12.4. That's a 17% jump from last year's week 5 game. It's the highest rating week 5 since 2015, which is the year considered the high water mark for NFL ratings.

Last year we were talking about NFL ratings being on the decline, as a couple years in a row they had dipped. 2018 has so far been a good year for the NFL, with ratings being on the rise. The national numbers aren't anywhere near what they were in 2015, but they are still up.
